There has been much debate over whether Jesus Christ will return. How He will return and when will He return? Confusion abounds and much of it is caused, (as always) by the enemy of mankind, who knows that if we despair, if we procrastinate, if we are unaware of this great event, a once in all eternity event… we will not participate.
The Word speaks of a worldwide event… twice. The Lord Jesus Christ will come down… twice. Here is where the confusion lies, and the enemy of mankind, who knows more than we do, is aware that those who miss the first coming, more than likely, will not enjoy His second appearance.
The Word speaks clearly of something which has gain much popularity among the Church of Jesus Christ, and even those who do not believe in Jesus have heard of… The Great Wedding.
It is written in Revelation, chapter 19, verses 7-8. But this is not the only reference and it is certainly not the end of this mystery, well, a mystery for some.
(Eph. 5:27 Mt 25:1 II Cor. 11:2 Mt 25:6)
“And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.”
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
(I Cor. 15:51-52
“by the word of The Lord,”
“For The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord.”
(Thess. 4:15-17)
“Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”
(Mt. 24:40-41) (42)
“For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.”
(Luc.21:35)
In Jesus Christ’s message to the church, He states the following;
“Because thou has kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
(Rev. 3:10)
This is the main reason why God will call those who have… “Kept the word of His patience” to be with him while He pours out some justice over those who have not… “kept the word of His patience”. And what a joyous occasion it shall be, a once in all eternity event.
The second coming of The Lord Jesus Christ, everyone knows about, and many are the voices who have spoken about…
“And then shall they see The Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.”
(Mark 13:26) There are many of these in The Word, but did you know that…
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection;” (Rev. 20:6) you don’t really what to be part of the second resurrection, believe me…
“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! (exclamation point) for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he has but a short time.”
(Rev. 12:12)
Short as in seven years.
The important part, and that which we are striving for is, that there is an understanding as to the first coming of The Lord Jesus Christ and the second.
In the first, He will call those who have followed His footsteps… faithfully, because He cannot pour out justice over them since they are perfect, holy and just. Made this way by their faith in His work.
The first coming is described in The Word as… a thief in the night. (Rev.3:3 16:15 I Thess. 5:2) In the parabola of the ten virgins, The Lord says that they were not expecting the bridegroom, they did not know when He would come.
But in the second coming it is said that… All eye shall see Him. And the signs over the earth are of such magnitude that those who remain upon this earth will know that the end has come.
We will leave you with this last piece of The Word and pray that you are watching this event from above and not from below…
